2008 marked another milestone for Kayla and the Cazares Racing team. Kayla locked up the Junior Champ title at Route 106 Racepark, marking her 5th consecutive championship for her career.

On the heels of such a remarkable feat Kayla was her usual casual self outside the car. She said "This championship is special. The racers I competed with this season were great and to beat them is an honor."

When she was asked about her 2009 plans she confirmed that she will be going stock car racing in 2009 but she cracked her trademark smile and said "We won't be selling the kart yet though, we want to keep the option of running at 106 for a few races open."
